Question:
Imagine the technology fairy godmother is paying you a visit. Which would you rather have for your classroom: an interactive whiteboard or an additional Internet-connected computer that students could use? Or is there something else you dream about as a tool for your students to learn?

I'd love to have a Wi-Fi connected laptop for each collaborative group in the class. Right now I only have 1 computer.

I want an Interwrite Pad. Actually I want four of them, but 1 would be a great start. Little mini-electronic whiteboards that the kids can use from their seats. Or I can use it to teach while actually moving around the rooom. What a concept!

I would like an Internet-connected computer for my classroom and since I'm teaching in an area of the world without regular power and internet connections, I'd like the fairy godmother to make it solar powered and connected to the internet by a satellite. :)

I have been wishing and filling out grant requests for an interactive whiteboard for many months. The only other thing I could think of would be laptops for the classes so we would not have to wait in line to check out the classroom sets. Im also interested in podcasting.

A techy fairy godmother:) I would ask for the interactive whiteboard for each of the classrooms. Then I would finish replacing the laptops in my lab with new imacs desktop computers. Lastly, I would ask for tech inservices laced with a dose of pioneer spirit for exploring the unknown.

Dear tech fairy godmother, I wish for an interactive whiteboard for every classroom - complete with wands, a class set of clickers, and Internet. It reaches more students, engages learners, provides immediate feedback, and reduces paper use! Yes, a tree-hugger I am!

As a classroom teacher, the interactive white board rules! It can not only be used to project the lesson developed, It can allow students to interact with the board which is very engaging and empowers students in the learning process. Using technology with students is obviously meets students needs for a variety of reasons but allowing students to have more interaction is a big key whatever tools you choose.
Realistically, one additional computer in a classroom should not be the goal of anyclassroom-the choice between a cart of student laptops and an interactive whiteboard might bring a more interesting debate.
Another interesting piece of technology which engages students, requires students to interact and allows teachers to quickly assess student comprehension is the use of classroom clickers. This tool can be not only very engaging for students but result in less "paperwork" for teachers because of the grading features which allow teachers to poll the class and determine the effectivness of the instruction.

I was recently at an in-service where we used the "clickers". I loved them and would love to have a set for my room. We also previewed a Mimio Capture. It does everything a white board can do but at more than half the price!

As the technology coordinator/teacher in my school I have to dream for the whole school. I would like all the classrooms in my school to have a 4 computer internet connected work station with a networked laser color printer. We would also have the resources to buy enough ink to supply our needs. The teachers and students could then integrate technology into the curriculum on an ongoing part of their classroom curriculum.

I would ask for the interactive white board. It is such a great way to motivate students. It also provides many great teacher tools. The ability to know instantly if your class understands the concept being taught is invaluable.
