Question of the Week Archives

Question:

Back to School time can be expensive. What do you plan to do as a teacher (or as a parent) to keep Back To School costs down this year?

To help keep Back to School costs down, I try to only purchase items on sale. Last week one store had a great sale--5 mechanical pencils for 19 cents, 10 pens for 19 cents, two large pink erasers for 29 cents, etc. Stores are really competing for customers at this time, so always check out the school supply aisles. Also, our parent-teacher group has teachers submit "wish lists" that can include anything from notebook paper or dry erase pens to desk chairs and media projectors. Parents try to find items that they have or are able to purchase to give to the classroom. This has been very helpful!

I plan to continue submitting proposals to DonorsChoose.org!
